One Killed, One Injured in Crash at Coldwater Rd. and E. Cedar Canyons Rd.

On September 12, 2026, at approximately 6:52 a.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of Coldwater Rd. and E. Cedar Canyons Rd. regarding a personal injury crash. Dispatch advised that callers reported a crash involving two motor vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located a black pickup truck and a maroon passenger car on Coldwater Rd., just north of the intersection with E. Cedar Canyons Rd. The driver of the black pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the maroon passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the black pickup truck was traveling southbound on Coldwater Rd. and the maroon passenger car was traveling northbound on Coldwater Rd. For unknown reasons, the pickup truck appears to have crossed the center line and struck the passenger car head-on in the northbound lane.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
