The Indiana State Police, with the assistance of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, are investigating the death of an inmate that occurred on 04/25/2025 at the Allen County Jail.
At approximately 3:48 am, Confinement officers discovered an unresponsive male suffering from a medical emergency. Jail and medical personnel responded immediately and initiated life-saving measures. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were also dispatched to the facility. Despite these efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Per standard protocol, the Indiana State Police were notified and will be conducting an independent investigation into the incident. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

On 04/29/2025, at approximately 9:33 am, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of SR 101 N. and Campbell Rd. Upon arrival, officers and medics located a semi pulling a flatbed trailer and an SUV just north of the intersection of SR 101 N.
