On February 4th, 2026, at approximately 4:12 p.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of U.S. 33 and County Road 300 North for a reported vehicle crash involving a gray Dodge van that was overturned in a ditch.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located a gray Dodge van and a red and white semi-truck near the intersection of U.S. 33 and County Road 300 North.
Preliminary investigation indicates both vehicles were traveling southeast on U.S. 33 when the semi-truck pulled out in front of the gray van. The driver of the van attempted to pass the semi-truck along the shoulder of U.S. 33. As the semi-truck turned west onto County Road 300 North, the two vehicles collided just entering Allen County, causing the van to overturn.
The driver of the gray van was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor.
