Allen County Sheriff Troy Hershberger, announced today that the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association will again be awarding college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice studies. 

On 02/07/2025, at approximately 11:34 am, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of State Road 37, southwest of Barnett Rd.  Upon arrival, officers and medics located a red SUV and black passenger car, on State Road 37, that appeared to be involved in a head on collision.

On December 17, 2024, at approximately 2:27 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the 2700 block of Ascension Court in Huntertown, IN, reference a subject stating they were armed with a gun,

On December 4, 2024, at approximately 10:59 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of Yohne Road, west of Smith Road, reference a single-vehicle crash with reported injuries.

On November 23, 2024, at approximately 7:58 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of I-69 southbound near the 320 mile marker, reference a crash with injuries.

On November 6, 2024, at approximately 6:12 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of U.S. 27 South, north of Flatrock Road, reference a crash involving three vehicles.

On October 7, 2024 at approximately 3:16 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of I-69 northbound,

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 1:34 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to Thimlar Road, north of Platter Road, reference a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

On September 23, 2024, at approximately 2:26 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of State Road 101, north of Hurshtown Road, reference a personal injury crash.

On August 19, 2024, at approximately 3:59 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of Tonkel Road, between Hursh Road and Hosler Road

Crash Investigators with the Allen County Sheriff's Department have arrested the driver who left the scene of a fatal hit and run crash on July 25, 2024.

With information provided by the public, officers from multiple jurisdictions in conjunction with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were able to locate the semi tractor believed to be involved in the fatal hit and run crash that occurred on July 25, 2024 on I-69 northbound near the 319 mile marker.  We appreciate all the assistance from both the public and other jurisdictions in this investigation.  

On July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:38 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of I-69 northbound near the 319 mile marker, reference a disabled semi on the side of the highway and a body lying in the roadway. 

On July 22, 2024 at approximately 12:57 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the intersection of West Washington Center Road and Stahlhut Road, reference a two-vehicle crash with injuries. 

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 7:55 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department responded to the area of U.S. 27 and Ferguson Road, reference a person injury crash. 

On June 25, 2024, at approximately 2:30 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of U.S. 24 East and I-469, regarding a personal injury crash. Upon arrival, officers located a semi tractor trailer and a passenger car involved in the crash.
