ALLEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH ON NORTHBOUND I-69

Press Releases

On June 15, 2026, at approximately 10:41 p.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police responded to a reported personal injury crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on northbound I-69 in the area of the 297 mile marker.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located the crash on northbound I-69 near the 297 mile marker. The preliminary investigation indicates that a blue Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on I-69 and had begun to pass other traffic. Witnesses reported that a blue motorcycle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed rear-ended the Ford Fusion. Following the collision, the motorcycle traveled into the median and struck the cable median barrier.

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The roadway has since been reopened; however, traffic continues to move slowly through the area as emergency personnel complete their investigation and clear the scene. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
