On May 26, 2026, at approximately 4:37 p.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to West Cedar Canyons Road, west of Kell Road, regarding a personal injury crash. Dispatch advised that callers reported a motor vehicle had struck a juvenile riding a bicycle.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located a white Chevy Impala and the bicyclist on West Cedar Canyons Road, west of Kell Road, near the intersection of the Pufferbelly Trail and West Cedar Canyons Road. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arrival at the hospital, the juvenile’s injuries were determined to be life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation indicates the bicyclist was traveling northbound on the Pufferbelly Trail and failed to stop for traffic traveling on West Cedar Canyons Road. A white Chevy Impala traveling eastbound on West Cedar Canyons Road struck the bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
