Fatal Crash in the 9800 Johnson Road

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 2:34 p.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 9800 block of Johnson Road regarding a reported personal injury crash involving a single vehicle and a possible ejection.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located the crash on Johnson Road between West Dupont Road and West Wallen Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that a silver Audi was traveling northbound on Johnson Road when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the east side of the roadway, struck several trees, rolled over, and caught fire. The sole occupant and driver was ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Upon arrival at the hospital, the driver was pronounced deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
