Life Threatening Crash on US 27 S. Near Flatrock Road

Press Releases

On January 3, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Flatrock Road and U.S. 27 South for a report of a two-vehicle collision with a possible rollover.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located a passenger car and an SUV on U.S. 27 South near the intersection of Flatrock Road that had been involved in the collision.

Preliminary investigation indicates both vehicles were traveling northbound on U.S. 27 South, just north of Flatrock Road, when the SUV rear-ended the passenger car, causing the passenger car to overturn. Both drivers were treated at the scene. A passenger in the passenger car was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Speed and distracted driving are believed to be contributing factors.
