SERIOUS INJURY CRASH UNDER INVESTIGATION AT THE INTERSECTION OF N. CLINTON ST. AND E. WALLEN RD.

On June 9, 2025, at approximately 1:21 p.m., officers with the Allen County Drug Task Force were conducting a narcotics investigation in the area of North Clinton Street and Auburn Road.

During the investigation, officers attempted to stop a male suspect, who fled the scene in a passenger vehicle. A brief pursuit ensued, during which the suspect traveled northbound on North Clinton Street and temporarily evaded officers. As officers approached the area of North Clinton Street and East Wallen Road, they discovered that the suspect vehicle had been involved in a collision with a small SUV and a pickup truck.

The suspect fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later. Officers and medics immediately rendered aid to all individuals involved in the crash.

The suspect was treated and medically cleared at the scene but was transported by officers to a local hospital as a precaution. The male driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The female driver of the SUV sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center.

The Indiana State Police are leading the investigation of the crash and the incident remains under investigation.

The suspect involved in the narcotics investigation and subsequent motor vehicle crash has been formally charged following medical clearance and was booked into the Allen County Jail.

During the investigation, the suspect’s vehicle was found to contain a large quantity of methamphetamine and a firearm. Following the crash that resulted in the death of one individual and serious injury to another, the suspect has been charged with the following.

  • Dealing in Cocaine
  • Dealing in Methamphetamine
  • Two Counts of Criminal Recklessness involving aggressive driving resulting in death and serious bodily injury
  • Two Counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash involving serious bodily injury and death
  • Driving While Suspended resulting in death or catastrophic injury
  • Two Counts of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle resulting in serious bodily injury and death

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional details may be released as they become available.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department continues to emphasize the dangers of fleeing from law enforcement and the tragic consequences of reckless driving.
