Rear-End Collision 12000 Block SR 1 Results in One Fatality, Two Critical

On November 22, 2025, at approximately 3:46 p.m., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a rear-end collision on State Road 1, North of Union Chapel Road.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located three Northbound vehicles, a silver Hyundai SUV, a silver Chevrolet SUV, and a black Kia SUV, involved in rear-end collisions on State Road 1.

Preliminary investigation indicates the black SUV and silver Chevrolet SUV were stopped in traffic on State Road 1. The Silver Hyundai SUV rear-ended the silver Chevrolet SUV, causing the silver Chevrolet SUV to rear-end the black SUV.

The male passenger of the silver Chevrolet SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female passenger of the silver Chevrolet SUV and juvenile passenger of the silver Hyundai SUV were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Fatal crash in eastern Allen County

At 601AM, officers with the Allen County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the area of Irving Rd and Thimlar Rd on a reported vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene located the single vehicle involved in the crash on the north side of the roadway. The driver, a female in her 20's, and only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene by East Central Fire and EMS Territory personnel. The vehicle was eastbound on Irving Rd, left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason, struck a driveway embankment and went airborne before striking a tree. The identity of the deceased with be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner's Office. This crash remains under investigation.
