Fatal crash in Southwest Allen County

At 631pm officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a reported vehicle rollover crash on the ramp from westbound I-469 to northbound I-69. 911 callers reported that the driver of the vehicle may have been ejected during the crash. Southwest Fire District EMS arrived on the scene first and located the male driver of the vehicle on the ground. Southwest Fire District EMS attempted life saving measures, however, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. This incident was a single vehicle crash, and the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police and the Allen County Coroner’s Office. The identity of the deceased driver will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroner’s Office. This is an active and ongoing investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The roadway from westbound I-469 to northbound I-69 has since been re-opened.
