Two Vehicle Crash Leaves One Person Deceased

Details:

At approximately 5:11a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two vehicle crash that occurred in the 6400 block of Airport Expressway and Coverdale Road.  Investigating officers have determined that a red Chevrolet HHR was westbound on Airport Expressway when the driver attempted to turn southbound onto Coverdale Road. A blue Volkswagen was traveling eastbound in the passing lane of Airport Expressway when it struck the Chevrolet as it was turning.  The 57 year old driver of the Chevrolet HHR died from his injuries.  The driver and a passenger of the Volkswagen were not injured.  The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.  The deceased victim was from Fort Wayne and investigators do not believe seat belts were worn.
