Two Dead, Eight Others Transported to Local Hospitals After Single Vehicle Crash

At approximately 2:10 a.m., Sunday, October 1st, 2017, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s department responded to the 14000 block of SR-1, (Leo Road), for a reported traffic crash.  When officers arrived, they found that a White passenger van had been traveling southbound on Leo Road when it left the east side of the roadway and struck a tree.  The van was carrying 15 passengers and a driver.  The front seat passenger and a person seated behind him both died at the scene.  8 other occupants were transported to local hospitals. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
