On January 26, 2022, at approximately 4:09 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a personal injury crash near the intersection of State Road 37 and Springfield Center Road.

Witnesses reported a three-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles being on fire.

Officers and medics arrived on scene. Three vehicles were in fact involved, one pickup truck and two sport utility vehicles.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the pickup truck was westbound on State Road 37, just east of Springfield Center Road, when it struck the other two vehicles, which were both eastbound.

The adult male driver and his two passengers of the pickup truck were all in fair condition. The driver of the first SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second SUV was listed in fair condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
