Sheriff’s Department Starts New Inmate Work Crew 

Sheriff David J. Gladieux has implemented a new Inmate Work Crew Program. The Inmate Work Crew is comprised of low risk inmates currently in custody at the Allen County Jail.  The inmates are tasked with picking up garbage along Allen County roads while being closely monitored at all times by a team of officers that maintain control and direct their movement.  For security reasons, the department will not release the times, locations, or inmates involved in the program. Sheriff Gladieux feels that this not only gives the low level offenders a chance to get some fresh air while enjoying nature and giving back to the community, but also benefits the residents of Allen County.
