On July 17, 2020, at approximately 4:51 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 10400 block of Marion Center Road, to a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a male who had been shot. The male said he and his wife discovered a suspect inside their residence and confronted him. The male homeowner went outside the residence to continue confronting the suspect when the suspect retrieved a weapon from his vehicle and shot the homeowner. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The homeowner was taken to a local hospital in fair condition.

At 4:57 P.M., a female 911 caller said a male, fitting the description of the suspect from Marion Center Road, just robbed her at gunpoint in the area of Hartzell Road and Tillman Road, near I-469, while she was jogging. The suspect fled with her cell phone, she was not injured.

The Allen County Sheriff”s Department’s Criminal Investigations Division was on scene and is working this active investigation.
