One Person Deceased After Early Morning Crash

Details:

On Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 at approximately 4:48 a.m., Allen County Police Officers responded to US 27 & Hessen Cassel Road for a crash involving a Buick Park Avenue and a Honda Ridgeline Pickup Truck with one person pinned inside his vehicle.  Upon arriving, and after conducting the initial investigation, it was determined that the male driver of the Honda was traveling north on US 27 when it collided with the driver’s side door of the Buick which was traveling west on Hessen Cassel Road.  The male driver of the westbound Buick had to be extricated from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The male driver of the northbound Honda was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The identity of the deceased along with the cause and manner of death will be released by the Allen County Coroner.
