At approximately 8:45 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 14500 block of Bruick Drive, for a reported traffic crash. When officers arrived, they found an SUV that was in an embankment. The only occupant of the vehicle, a male driver, was pronounced deceased by medics at the scene. During the investigation, officers discovered an area where the SUV appeared to have left the roadway in the 14000 block of Minnich Road. Officers said the SUV appeared to travel eastbound through a field before ultimately crashing into the embankment. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
