One Person Dead After Semi hits SUV
At approximately 7:34 p.m., Thursday, January 25th, 2018, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to US 30 and West County Line Road for a reported crash involving a semi and an SUV. When officers arrived, they determined that the SUV had a green light and was northbound on West County Line Road when it was struck by a semi that was eastbound on US 30. The female driver and two children in the SUV received minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The driver of the semi was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi landed on its side causing a diesel fuel leak which shut down the eastbound lanes of US 30. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
