Officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to assist local fire departments with a structure fire in the 15000 block of Mill Road at approximately 5:05 P.M. on August 28, 2020.

Fire officials advised that they located a deceased person inside the mobile home fire. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Allen County FAST Team (Fire Arson Specialty Team) were called to the scene to investigate.

One adult male victim was confirmed deceased. There were no other victims located at this time. This incident remains under investigation.

Agencies assisting at the scene were: Poe Fire Department, Hoagland Fire Department, Southwest Fire District and the Indiana Air National Guard 122nd Fighter Wing Fire Department.
