One Person Dead After Being Struck By Semi
At approximately 1:03 p.m., Friday, April 28th, 2017, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 17.8-mile marker of I-469 at Minnick Road for a reported pedestrian stuck by a semi-truck. When officers arrived, they found that a white male in his 40’s had stepped in front of a southbound semi. The male driver and sole occupant of the semi was not injured. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the victim to walk in front of the semi. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
