At approximately 10:24 a.m., Wednesday, January 18th, 2017, Officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to I-69 Northbound, near the 306.6 mile marker for a reported traffic crash. Initial reports indicated that a male was stuck outside of his vehicle, which was broken down on the side of I-69. When Officers arrived, they found an adult male on the side of the roadway, which the medics pronounced deceased. The Ford pickup that struck the male remained on scene. Police are speaking with witnesses to determine exactly what happened. The driver and passenger in the Ford pickup were not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
