On January 13, 2022, at approximately 1:35 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Coldwater Road & Fitch Road, reference a two-vehicle crash.

The initial investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Coldwater Road, south of Fitch Road, and a passenger car was traveling southbound at the same location. For unknown reasons at this time, the two vehicles struck one another nearly head-on.

The driver of the passenger car was an adult female, who had life-threatening injuries at the scene. She was transported by medics to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The adult male driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

Coldwater Road is still closed at this time while police conduct their investigation.

UPDATE: The roadway is now open (4:30 P.M.)
