Media Coverage May Have Led to Sex Offender Fleeing the Area and Getting Arrested in Oregon
The Allen County Sex Offender Registration and Notification Team was notified March 22, 2016 that Stanley Ray Osborne, M/W/34, who was featured on local media and wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, went on a multi-state crime spree and ended up in the Klamath County, Oregon Jail. Mr. Osborne is suspected in a burglary and theft in Boone County Indiana, an armed robbery in Montgomery County Indiana, an attempted armed robbery in Illinois, an armed robbery in Oklahoma, an armed robbery in Arizona, and was finally arrested in Klamath County Oregon for being in possession of a stolen car and gun. Although Allen County is in line to have Mr. Osborne extradited back for his local charges, it is unknown when he will be returned. It is believed that thanks to local media coverage, Mr. Osborne had to flee the area and keep moving until his arrest.
