On December 29, 2022, at approximately 3:45 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to I-69 northbound, at the 300.0 mile marker, regarding a personal injury motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers and medics located an SUV and semi tractor trailer, both involved in the crash. Investigators determined that the SUV had been northbound on I-69 when it hit the guardrail, then came to rest in the driving lane. The northbound semi then struck the SUV. The semi then went into the ditch and came to rest across Branstrator Road, which runs parallel to I-69.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the semi was transported to a local hospital in fair condition with minor injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

This incident remains under investigation.
