Allen County K-9 Finds Suspect After Vehicle and Foot Pursuit
At approximately 2:50 a.m. this morning 10/18/2020 officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a vehicle pursuit starting at Woodburn Road and Sampson Road. The vehicle pursuit continued to the 10000 block of Maysville Road where the driver exited and began fleeing on foot from Canopy Lane and Windsor Woods Drive. After securing the 2 passengers that stayed in the vehicle, an Allen County K-9 was dispatched to track the fleeing suspect. The K-9 tracked the suspect though the woods and led officers to a tree line in the 5100 block of Fox Mill Run. The suspect was found laying in the tree line and initially refused to comply with officers’ commands to show his hands. After advising that the K-9 would be released to subdue the suspect, he decided to comply and was taken into custody. The suspect, Robert Jaylen Croskey, was booked into the Allen County Lock-Up with no bond for Resisting by Fleeing in a vehicle (Level 6 Felony), Resisting physically (Class A Misdemeanor), Criminal Recklessness (Class B Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor). The two passengers were released without charges.
