On May 2, 2018, at approximately 5:24 P.M., the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Slusher Road and Sampson Road, after receiving reports of a single vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses on scene explained that a passenger car was eastbound on Slusher Road, east of Sampson Road, when it passed a farm tractor at a high rate of speed. The passenger car left the roadway and rolled several times, ejecting the adult male driver. There were two adult female passengers in the vehicle as well. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene and both females were transported to a local hospital in fair condition. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
