On April 27, 2018, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to Hillegas Road and Husted Street at approximately 7:52 A.M. after receiving reports of a three vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses on scene explained that a Northbound SUV crossed the center line and struck a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck that was Southbound on Hillegas Road. The SUV then struck a Southbound passenger car, nearly head-on. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver and two passengers from the passenger car were all transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Hillegas Road was closed between W. State Blvd. and Butler Road until 10:20 A.M. The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
