5 Vehicle Crash Leaves 2 People Deceased on I 469

Details:

At approximately 4:45 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2018, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a crash at the 21 mile marker of I-469.  Investigating officers arrived to find a passenger vehicle fully engulfed in flames trapped between two semi-trucks.  It was then  determined that a Semi was northbound on I-469, when it ran into the back of a passenger vehicle, pushing it into the back of another semi, which was pushed into a third semi, knocking it on its side and into another passenger vehicle. The three drivers of the semi-trucks and occupants of the last vehicle struck were not injured.  After extinguishing the flames of the vehicle that was on fire, investigators located 2 people deceased. The identities of the deceased will be released by the coroner’s office.  The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and Allen County Coroners Office.
