11-year-old injured after crashing a car that he was driving

Details:

On Saturday, August 1st^, at approximately 7:14 p.m., Allen County Police Officers responded to the area of Antwerp road and Trammel Road for a crash involving a black Mini Cooper.  Upon arriving, and after conducting the initial investigation, it was determined that the 11-year-old driver and sole occupant of a Mini Cooper was eastbound on Antwerp road when it left the south side of the roadway before driving through a shed and striking a tree.   The 11-year-old was taken to a local hospital in serious condition with a head injury.  The last update from the hospital advised that the victim is doing well and is going to be alright.  The crash is under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department to determine how the juvenile obtained the car keys, and why he was driving the vehicle.
