FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HIGH SPEEDS LEAVE ONE DEAD AND ONE CRITICAL
DECEMBER 22, 2010
On December 22, 2010 at approximately 5:00 PM a Allen County Police Officer who was using radar to monitor motorists speeds clocked a silver Infinity traveling 90 miles per hour South bound I469 just South of State Road 37.  At that point the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop on the car using his emergency lights and sirens.  The driver of the Infinity disregarded the officers emergency lights and sirens and continued South on I469 attempting to exit several times without success.  The driver eventually exited West bound onto Tillman road.  At that time, Fort Wayne Police officers gave assistance to the pursuit. As the silver Infinity approached Hessen Cassel, police decreased there speed due to safety reasons. The suspect vehicle continued on at a high rate of speed crashing into a telephone pole. The driver of the Infinity, M/B was pronounced dead at the scene and the M/B passenger was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.  The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County FACT Team and Allen County Prosecutor.
