DETAILS:     Allen County Dispatch received a call at 1:21 p.m. today, from a female resident who advised that she heard someone knocking on the front door of her home located in the 4200 block of

Hatch Road
. When she did not answer her front door, she heard her back door being kicked in.  When the resident went to investigate she saw a male/black looking through a desk drawer in her house.  When the suspect saw her, he ran out of the residence and got into a car which was waiting for him and fled the area.  While Allen County Officers were enroute to the residence, Lieutenant Brian Knuth came upon a traffic crash that had just occurred at the intersection of Shoaff and Greenwall Roads. One of the vehicles involved in the crash matched the description of the vehicle that had just fled from the scene of the burglary. A witness advised Lieutenant Knuth that a passenger in one of the vehicles had gotten out of the car and fled on foot.  Allen County K-9 Master Trainer Robert Compton was in the area and observed the passenger of the wrecked vehicle hiding in some pine trees.  With the assistance of K-9 Zorro the burglary suspect was taken into custody.  The driver of the vehicle was also taken into custody.  There were no injuries in either of the two vehicles.
