FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DATE:                    April 28, 2007

WHAT:            Person Responsible For Graffiti at Leo Jr/Sr High School Identified

SUSPECT:       M/W/17

DETAILS:     The Allen County Sheriff’s Department has identified the person responsible for writing graffiti on a bathroom wall at Leo Jr/Sr High School. The graffiti, “VT will happen here,” caused school officials to close the school early Friday afternoon, and release the students to their parents, while two K-9’s from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and one from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, trained in the detection of explosives and firearms, conducted a thorough search of the school.  The search, which took just under an hour, did not find anything to cause concern.  The remorseful 17 year old perpetrator admitted to the graffiti, and is cooperating with investigators.  The investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau and school officials is ongoing with criminal charges likely to be filed.
