Post Loud Music in the County
We live just outside city limits in a quiet neighborhood. Our next door neighbors throw parties that last well past midnight with very loud music that prevents us from sleeping. We have called the Sheriff's dispatch to have an Officer ask them to lower the volume but they turn it up after the Officer leaves. Recently, after we contacted the Sheriff's dispatch twice due to this problem going on for 4+ hours the Officer came to our door and said there is no county noise ordinance and he could not do anything make them lower the music. What happened to disturbing the peace? Do we have to suffer every time our neighbors throw a party?

Without an address to look at the previous assignments this is a tough question to answer. The Officer is correct, there is no law or ordinace in the County governing loud music. However, depending on the frequency, time of the loud music and several other factors Disorderly Conduct MAY apply.
