The requested concealed carry permit will be mailed by the Indiana State Police to the mailing address entered on the concealed carry permit application.
The initial application can be filled out on the Internet (see item 6 above) or in the B of I office, located in the Charles “Bud” Meeks Justice Center, 101 E. Superior St, (corner of Superior and Calhoun St.) Room B-25 (in the basement.). Applying for a concealed carry permit is a two step process. The first step includes coming into the B of I and having a staff member print your permit application if it was entered via the Internet or actually filling out the paper application. At this time the applicant pays the Local Fee. For payment of the Local Fee, the B of I can only accept a Money Order or a Cashier’s Check. It must be made payable to the Allen County Police Department. The second step in the process consists of the applicant returning to the B of I office no sooner than one (1) week later, for finger printing and to pay the State Fee. For payment of the State Fee, the State of Indiana can only accept a Money Order or a Cashier’s Check. It must be made payable to the State of Indiana. At that time, a staff member will place the finger print card, the concealed carry permit application and the Money Order or a Cashier’s Check in a State supplied envelope. The applicant must supply three (3) first class stamps to be applied to the envelope and add a proper return address. It is the responsibility of the applicant to mail the envelope. Applications are kept on file in the B of I office for thirty (30) days after the initial visit. If an applicant fails to return to the B of I office within thirty (30) days, the application is void. No refund for the local fee is possible. He/she must repeat the application process at step one (1) again.
